Join BCC June 7th For Shavuot
Shavuot – Tuesday night June 7, 2011. Shavuot: In keeping with Jewish traditions of Shavuot, including Tikkun l’eil Shavuot (an all night study), dairy foods (with other vegetarian options for the lactose free among us!), yizkor prayer, beautiful music, join us tomorrow night (Tues. June 7) for our annual Shavuot gathering, the first in our new sanctuary. Study with Dr. Adler, Rabbi Edwards, Cantor Porat, Maggie Anton Parkhurst, Henry Wudl
7pm: vegetarian, dairy pot luck meal (bring something to share – only microwave heating/cooking is available for now) and some learning on the traditions of Shavuot
7:45: we’ll enter the sanctuary to hear the 10 commandments chanted and to offer yizkor (memorial prayers).
8:30: we’ll begin our studies with Dr. Adler, and go from there into the night learning about and creating prayers to offer together as the midnight hour approaches.
