  • May – June, 2017.  BCC Introduces Musical Culture Awards.  L’Chayim Legacy Circle hosts a celebratory luncheon.  LA Pride 2017 is a show of solidarity with the National Equality March for Unity and Pride scheduled to take place in Washington, DC.  BCC Director of Education, Leah Zimmerman bids farewell.
  • March – April 2017.  Our lead story honors 8 important musical contributors to our shul at our Annual Gala Brunch.  BCC turns 45 in 2017!  A Purim celebration with Temple Akiba and social action project led by Ohr Chayim kids is revealed.  Cantor Porat ponders his sabbatical.  Read about a luncheon with our L’Chayim Legacy Circle to plan our own legacies.  This year BCC Members create DIY Passover Seders.
  • January – February 2017.  Read Rabbi Edwards’ thoughts about prayers for our government as we embark on an uncertain future with a new administration. Our newsletter editor Larry Nathenson also offers some historical reflections on Jewish relationships with the governments under which we have lived.
  • November – December 2016.  Rabbi Lisa Edwards’ notes on a community tribute for Shimon Peres that she and Cantor Juval Porat  attended. BCC honors four judges, who are also  members.  President Lauren Schlau invites members to help shape and grow the BCC community.
  • September – October 2016   The BCC clergy offer inspirational columns to help us prepare for the new year 5777 that are not only spiritual and introspective but also a cue for our congregation to community-build.  BCC’s Futures Task Force streamlines fundraising.
