BCC Friday Night Prayer Book
The BCC Friday Night Prayer Book is a living document first written and compiled in the ‘70s by BCC’s ritual committee. Under the leadership of member Harriet Perl, BCC’s siddur was one of, if not the, first reform prayer book to be written in gender neutral language. Our siddur contains many translations and writings written by members, including lgbt-inclusive and feminist liturgy not found in any other prayer book.
The most recent version, released in April, 2011 is available here for use to follow our service while watching via live stream, or in the event that you find yourself unable to pray with BCC in person but would like to pray.
This edition is a transitional publication as our Ritual Committee is in the early stages of expanding and deepening the BCC Siddur. In the event that you see typos or errors, we appreciate both your patience during this transitional time and alerting us to what you’ve found.
This prayer book is copyright BCC and we ask that you not reproduce it or re-use it in another publication without first obtaining permission from BCC. Please contact Executive Director Ruth Geffner if you would like to use it in part or in whole for anything other than individual prayer.
