Saturday, July 28, Tisha b’Av Services with Ikar, Shtibl Minyan & Temple Emanuel at BCC! 8pm
Saturday, July 28, Tisha b’Av Services, 8pm.
Whether Tisha b’Av has long been a part of your Jewish year, or never before, plan to be with us this Saturday night for our annual observance of the saddest day on the Jewish calendar — the mourning for all the ills that have befallen the Jewish people. We will be joined at BCC (6090 W. Pico Blvd) by friends from neighboring congregations – IKAR, Shtibl Minyan, and Temple Emanuel – in what promises to be a powerful evening of prayer, learning, haunting music and slide show, enhanced by a preliminary teaching from Rabbi Rachel Adler on Lamentations as survivor literature. The learning will begin at 8:15 , and at 9pm we will enter our darkened sanctuary, made to look like a house of mourning and destruction, for the service and chanting of the Book of Lamentations. Bring a pillow if you plan to sit on the floor (chairs are available). As Tisha b’Av is a fast day, no refreshments will be served. The parking lot across Pico from BCC will be open (look for the sign).
