Introducing: BCC People

Yanir Dekel, the guy who keeps our website and social media constantly updated, introduces our latest online project: BCC People. An online magazine designed to connect all the LGBT Jews of Los Angeles area!

Aren’t the Jewish LGBT people of Southern California fascinating? Honestly, how would we know? There is, indeed, much to know about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender Jews here in the LA area, but finding it all – really getting to know this amazing community — is easier said than done.

For many years, BCC has worked to provide a focus for this surprisingly diverse community — to act, as a synagogue should, to help members of the community meet, share, support, network, make friends, make more than friends.

As the Internet has changed so much about the way people “congregate,” we are launching “BCC People,” an online magazine dedicated to helping the Jewish LGBT community get to know itself.

BCC People is not a synagogue newsletter, nor is it a “who’s who” of BCC membership. Instead, BCC is launching this online magazine to highlight the personalities, characters, celebrities, and individuals who make us what we are.

What’s on BCC People?

• Personal Interviews and Exclusives
• Constantly Updated Collection of Press and Media on the J-LGBT Community
• Important J-LBGT News and Commentary from our Community and Around the World
• Bios on J-LBGT People – Well-Known and Hardly Known – who make the J-LGBT Community of Southern California what we are

What can BCC People can do for YOU?

Lots! As much as you can learn about others on BCC People, we are dedicated to helping others learn about you — as an individual, as a business, as an organization or social initiative – we want to highlight all of this! People in the J-LGBT community want to support each other. But first they need to know each other. That’s what BCC People is for!

How can you contribute to BCC People?

To start out, what’s most important to us is to find people and organizations to highlight as we begin to build our programming calendar. Let us know if you have a new job, tell us what interests you. Let us know how we can help you, your business, your progress in life. In other words, become one of our BCC People!

You are welcome to send me your ideas for stories, pictures, interesting people you know, gossip about the J-LGBT people in the LA area, or anything else you have in mind. And don’t forget to visit us at bcc-la.org/people!
