December 23: Hanukkah Dinner Out!

Come celebrate Hanukkah at a dinner out before Ruach Chayim musical services. We’ll eat latkes, spin dreidels, and light menorahs in a private room at Factor’s Famous Deli (9420 W. Pico Blvd. near Beverly Dr.). BYOM – Bring Your Own Menorah! – we’ll have dreidels there. Each person pays for their own dinner; prices are about $15-$20. December 24 (1st Candle of Hanukkah)

On Saturday, December 24 we invite you to say goodbye to Shabbat and welcome in the Festival of Lights. Starting at 6:00 pm, you can stretch, sing, listen, have a bite and delight in your inner glow and outer light during Om Shalom and BCC’s Havdalah and Hanukkah themed yoga practice. This event also is part of the Infinite Light festival, hosted and supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles.

December 27 (4th Candle of Hanukkah)

Torah study and candle lighting with Rabbi Lisa Edwards. This year, Parashat Miketz, the one with Pharaoh’s dreams, falls on the week of Hanukkah. What will be the verse of the week? Our weekly torah study is for anyone interested in learning more about Judaism through Jewish sacred texts. No need to sign-up or to RSVP, drop-ins are welcome, as well as students of all scholarly levels. Hebrew not required. All materials for studying are provided.

December 30 (7th Candle of Hanukkah)

Everyone is invited to join us at BCC on Friday, December 30 for one of our brightest celebrations of the year for the whole family! Bring your menorah, your appetite, and your holiday spirit.

Here are approximate times for what we have planned throughout the evening.

6:00 pm – Latke party, Hanukkah crafts with Ms Purple, family candle lighting and singing for families with children.
7:30 pm – Hanukkah Shabbat service with Rabbi Heather Miller and Cantor Juval Porat, followed by more singing, candle lighting and Hanukkah fun.
9:30 pm – A delicious latke and sufganiyot party for all ages!

December 31 (8th Candle of Hanukkah)

BCC Hanukkah/New Years Eve Party, 6-9pm. We’ll be celebrating Havdalah, Hanukkah and New Year’s Eve all in one night, at BCC! Havdalah and Candle lighting will be followed by a catered dinner and screening of the movie “Trick”. At 8:55pm we will watch the ball drop in NY! Members $25, non-members $30.
