On behalf of the Executive Director Search Committee and the BCC Board of Directors, we are very pleased to announce that BCC has a new Executive Director!

Her name is Ruth Geffner and you will be seeing much of her at BCC! She is starting as of this week transitioning with Felicia, and will begin full-time April 16. She has an excellent background in temple administration and Jewish education. She has worked at both Temple Isaiah and Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills. Ruth has the skills we need and will fit well with where we are now and where we want to go as a synagogue community.

The search process was thorough and detailed over the past four months. We received many resumes and interviewed a number of candidates who were very eager to be part of BCC as they learned more about our history, our mission and our work.

Deep appreciation and gratitude to the ED Search Committee, for a true team effort! First and foremost Richard Lesse, BCC Secretary, superbly chaired this detailed and demanding charge with dedication, professionalism, caring and humor. And we acknowledge and sincerely thank committee members Hon. Donna Groman, Ginger Jacobs, Joanne Laipson, Brett Trueman, Hannah Theile and Rabbi Lisa Edwards for their involvement and so ably carrying out their various tasks.

BCC members can be very proud of how this process was conducted, the commitment and enthusiasm of those involved, and the positive outcome of finding a wonderful and talented new Executive Director. The positive impressions of BCC expressed by the various candidates helped us see ourselves from the outside, as a true beacon in the L/G/B/T and Jewish communities, a legacy that will grow as we enter this new BCC chapter with Ruth Geffner as our Executive Director.
