Weekend Activities at BCC: March 14-16 / 2014

Friday, March 14 at 8pm: Shabbat Services Rabbi Lisa Edwards and Cantor Juval Porat will lead services with a drash by Marsha Epstein & Aviyah Farkas. BCC family auf ruf for members Marsha & Aviyah AND Alex Maghen & Yanir Dekel.  A special oneg is being sponsored by Alex & Yanir, Marsha & Aviyah in honor of their upcoming nuptials. Please join us in the house of love & happiness.

Saturday, March 15 at 10am: Once-a-Month Morning Minyan.  Join BCCers for a traditional morning service infused with BCC’s informal, welcoming spirit of community–including rousing melodies.  Torah reading and insightful discussion of the week’s Torah portion. Everyone who is a beginner and wants to learn is encouraged to drop-in.  An English transliteration of the service is available, making it very easy for all to participate.  Kiddish and vegetarian potluck follows the service.

Saturday March 15 at 7pm: Purim on the BCC Roof! A night to remember, and different than we’ve ever done Purim before! More LGBT shpiel twists and turns than Dorothy had down the yellow brick road! This year Purim its all about the SHPIEL. Fiddler on the BCC Roof is a musical in 3 acts written by BCC’s Clergy and member Tamara Kline. Sunday, March 16, Project Chicken Soup. Preparing Kosher meals and delivering to clients with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses: 7:45am to cook; 11:30am to deliver meals. Contact Cathryn @ (310) 836-5402 to volunteer. Great place to be a mensch and meet other mensches. Take social action now!
