Weekend Activities at BCC: October 11-13 / 2013

Friday, October 11, at 8pm: National Coming Out Day Shabbat Services led by Rabbi D’ror Chankin-Gould & Cantor Juval Porat. Join us for a special welcoming of Shabbat, followed by a social hour of Kosher Refreshments.

For our friends outside Los Angeles: Friday Shabbat Services at 8pm will be live streamed. Click the “Worship” tab above, on the roll down menu choose “BCC Live Video & Audio” to view the stream. Find out how you can participate in the service from your computer at home!

Saturday, October 12 at 10am – 12:30pm: Ohr Chayim and Parent & Me Shabbat. Families with children of all ages are invited to join Cantor Porat and the Ohr Chayim families for a Shabbat morning service.  Following the service, preschool children and their parents do some singing, storytelling, and crafts together.  Elementary school age children are invited to join the Ohr Chayim students for some learning and activities.

Saturday October 12 at 7:30 pm : BCC Film Club screens the Israeli film The Secrets about two women who fall in love in a women’s Yeshiva.  An Official entry into the Toronto Film Festival it’s been very well-received by both the LGBT and Orthodox communities Read more. Saturday night, October 12th, Havdalah at 7pm, Movie at 7:30.  It’s at BCC and free.  Feel free to bring snacks and drinks.
